- Assist in the preparation of engineering designs and work orders for capital works, system extensions, maintenance, operations, or replacement
- Assist with development and review for drawings and specifications for construction to meet regulatory requirements of Ontario Regulation 22/04
- Ensure work is in compliance with regulatory requirements and legislation such as the Ontario Energy Board, IESO, and Regulations 22/04
- Assist with the preparation of contracts for tender as well as supporting contractor management duties
- Provide technical support pertaining to electric distribution systems including: the establishment and maintenance of distribution standards, SCADA, protection and control, substations, system coordination, and line design
- Assist in the planning and design for long term sustainability and reliability of the electric distribution system
- Research company records to verify infrastructure details
- Assist with assembling and analyzing budgets and project costs
- Assist with verifying bills of materials and monitoring the availability of materials and recommending appropriate new materials and equipment as required
- Contribute to innovative solutions towards technological advancements for our customers
- Provide quality services to our customers in a safe and efficient manner
- Contribute to leveraging technology to digitize processes
- Review of municipal streetlighting systems and processes
- Review and recommend smart city opportunities Who You Are:
- You are enrolled in a Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) accredited Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering program
- You have a sound working knowledge of engineering principles related to electrical distribution and associate communications and controls systems
- Familiarity with applicable legislation related to the supply and delivery of electricity is an asset
- You have a demonstrated ability to work with software such as Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS, and databases
- You can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results
- You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance What You Should Bring:
