Shipper & Receiver (Forklift Operator) - Full time permanent
Pacific Coast Fruit Products Ltd is a progressive, globally recognized fruit processing and trading company located in Abbotsford, BC. We are looking for a skilled individual for the Shipper and Receiver's position (Forklift Operator).

Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, the Shipper and Receiver will help coordinate the availability of packing materials and supplies and transfer goods to/from production and/ or storage areas.

Shift Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Day Shift

This position will require scheduling flexibility to cover scheduled and unscheduled absences and provide support when needed to meet the business requirements.

Some weekend work may be necessary.

Accountabilities:

Further the efficiency and effectiveness of the production facility by coordinating the transfer of goods to/from Pacific Coast Fruit Products and/or its customers according to the established procedures for safe handling and movement of product.
Preshift inspection of mobile equipment. Operate forklift, or other equipment, to load, unload, transport, and store products according to the established procedures for safe storage and handling.
Transfer in packed raw product from growers and/or customers and transfer out for loading into refrigerated transport vehicle/conveyance. Responsible for the organization of the product in preparation for production.
Record all required information and maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments—complete documents, forms, and records following applicable procedures and work instructions.
Report issues or concerns that involve employee health and safety, product quality or food safety, productivity loss and any other relevant information that may impact PCFP Operations to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor and/or Production Superintendent.
Complete required master sanitation tasks and responsibilities
Trained to perform all duties for Warehousing (freezer work at PCCS
Our Cold Storage), Production Re-Pack (support and complete repack work orders and enter the required information into the ERP system) and 5 driving the 5ton truck (moving packaging materials and other items to and from facilities and other locations.)
Assist in other areas when required (such as production duties, sanitation, and cleaning duties)

What else do you need to know:

Primary environment: Outdoors / Food processing facility, Noise exposure: moderate to high
Exposure: Multitemperature environment, outdoor, allweather conditions, working in the freezer frequently
Work near moving mechanical part, Work in the chemical storage area / Work with cleaning and sanitizing chemical solutions and/or agents.
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, Pulling & managing heavy equipment and objects, frequent moderate to heavy lifting and carrying (57lbs), Twisting, and bending, movement on and off a forklift.

Job Qualifications:

Forklift certification required with an exemplary overall safety record
Computer savvy to use ERP system (will provide training)
Ability to multitask and work independently as well as with a team
Good decision making, basic math skills, effective record keeping and documentation
The good attendance record, flexible with scheduling
Good driving record and driver's license (to be provided)
