    ApplyBoard is Canada's fastest-growing technology company with a diverse workforce and a global customer base. We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join our CX Learning and Enablement team. As a bridge between theCX Department and the wider organization, the teamprovides learning solutions and content to address changes that impact the department. These changes include the structure and staffing of the CX Department, the ApplyBoard platform, or changes to source or destination market processing requirements. The team develops training plans, resources, and content for cross training and technical onboarding of team members based in several time zones.

    We investigate and respond to processing errors, improving the quality of work across CX. Based on our experience, we proactively produce learning materials, resources and training plans to support the Department's current and anticipated needs.

    This role requires excellent organizational skills to manage the concurrent development of multiple courses in collaboration with other team members, including in-team Content Writers and various cross-functional and cross-departmental subject matter experts. You should be curious, driven and dedicated to continuous learning. Experience working in an agile environment is considered a strong asset.

    What you'll be doing every day:

  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, maintaining records and documentation outlining project progress. With guidance from the Senior Specialist, complete project intake and needs analysis, identification of measurable success metrics, stakeholder management, project outcomes, work breakdown and assignment, identification of deliverables, deadline management, communication planning, project evaluation and reporting, retrospectives, and lessons learned.
  • Based on a thorough understanding of the project objectives and the tools / resources available, develop and suggest learning solutions including instructor led training, blended or self-paced eLearning. Develop program curriculum, which addresses the learner's needs and which has a measurable impact on the Department.
  • Storyboarding - Research documentation and communicate with Subject Matter Experts as necessary to produce high quality storyboards for articles, Rise, Storyline, Camtasia and LMS courses. Development of clear knowledge checks and assessments.
  • Course design - Carefully follow prescribed design guidelines including ApplyBoard brand guidelines and team specific guidelines. Make design decisions which are thoughtful, consistent, and promote the best learner experience.
  • Writing copy - Produce clear and accurate copy for a variety of purposes and audiences which is intentionally written for the specific audience.
  • eLearning Authoring tools - Use of Articulate Rise, Storyline and Camtasia to communicate and present information interactively promoting user experience. Maintenance and regular review of materials to ensure accuracy. Resources reflect ApplyBoard brand and team style guidelines.
  • Plan and schedule training programs incorporating up to date materials and resources. Use Google Calendar to accurately invite and provide information to learners. Facilitate in person / virtual training sessions and programs as necessary. Identify and communicate with cross functional SMEs to deliver technical training. Work with the India based delivery team or Outsourced trainers to ensure program delivery. Monitor training completion and ensure that stakeholders are informed.
  • Maintain and update CX L&E owned ApplyGuide articles to support specialists in their roles. Ensuring that materials are well written, clear, up to date, and easy to access.
  • Learning Management System course development and administration - Follows team standards and expectations to produce logical, functional and accurate courses. Review of LMS courses to ensure expected functionality.
  • Research and analysis of systems, processes and documentation provided by SMEs to ensure accuracy of content and ensuring cross functional alignment between teams prior to the development of learning materials.
  • What you bring to the table:

  • 3 years experience in a role demonstrating project leadership and documentation, stakeholder management and working with SMEs.
  • High proficiency in written communication and an ability to develop training material from technical documentation.
  • Ability to take initiative to drive project success, manage multiple timelines and meet deadlines
  • Experience in developing training and learning content based on design standards.
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360, or other e-learning authoring tools is preferred
  • Experience using a learning management systems as a user or administrator is preferred
