Description

Reporting to the Donor Relations Supervisor (DRS), the Donor Relations Coordinator (DRC) will work to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major, mid-level, and legacy donors.

As a key member of our Development team, the primary objective of the DRC will be to connect current and prospective individual, corporate, foundation and government supporters to the important work, Mission, Vision and Values of Siloam Mission.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Major and Mid-level Giving:


  • Develop strategies to effectively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward existing, new and lapsed donors with the goal of developing and strengthening their relationship with Siloam Mission;
  • Utilize and analyze data, records, metrics, relevant software, and other research tools to identify new donors, as well as current or lapsed supporters who have the capacity to upgrade their giving levels;
  • Ensure partnerships are compatible with Siloam Mission's strategic direction and core values;
  • Utilize and maintain a moves management system to track individual activity in all stages of the donor life cycle to ensure relationships are nurtured and advanced properly on an ongoing basis;
  • The DRC will be responsible for liaising with the broader Siloam Mission team to determine and advise what programs and services are most likely to align with the priorities and philanthropic wishes of donors, corporations, foundations, and government;
  • Implement recognition and stewardship strategies that align with Siloam Mission's policies and procedures;
  • Work with Development colleagues to ensure impact reporting fulfills our commitments to our supporters in a timely manner according to funding agreements and Siloam Mission's outlined Donor Recognition Journey;
Creatively collaborate with colleagues to research and solicit potential gifts-in-kind from a broad range of sources;

  • Ensure all donor interactions are consistent with Siloam Mission's brand and key messaging;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Donor Perfect database;
  • Occasional minutetaking in meetings. and the timely deployment of the weekly Development team update;
  • Maintain a record of "Mission Statistics" that help communicate how we serve the community, including the documentation of any formulas used to calculate and ensure statistics are updated on a regular basis and as required.

Legacy Giving:


  • Research and identify prioritized prospects for legacy gifts to Siloam Mission;
  • Maintain and update Siloam's legacy giving relationship management system;
  • Meet with prospects and provide tours for legacy donors;
  • Plan Legacy Teas to host prospects and provide tours;
  • Prepare reports and analysis on the performance of all surveys;
  • Maintain and update procedure documents for Siloam's legacy giving portfolio;
  • Communicate with the necessary third parties such as law firms to ensure donor's wishes are met and followed through on with integrity and respect;
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/BEHAVIORS

  • Strong analytical skills and decision making abilities in a fastpaced environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people;
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material and situations with integrity;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Can work independently or as part of a group as required;
  • Working knowledge of databases in general, Donor Perfect an asset;
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Must have a valid 5G driver's license, reliable vehicle and the ability to travel within city limits and occasionally to rural locations in southern Manitoba;
  • Experience working with volunteers in a nonprofit organization is an asset.

RELATIONSHIP

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours of work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 4:30 pm; Occasional evening and weekend support of Siloam activities and events.
  • Office environment.
