Job Overview:
Field Supervisor needed for Edmonton location of national deck building company, Deckify. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced carpenter to oversee multiple on-site deck and hardscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical and practical skills, as well as the ability to manage teams effectively.
The Field Supervisor role involves coordinating daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining project timelines, and customer satisfaction.

The Field Supervisor will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality results while managing multiple aspects of construction projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Managing projects, crews, safety, and logistical flow;
- Monitoring day-to-day crew activities to ensure high company standards are met;
- Provide on-site direction and tasks to crews on best practices and techniques when necessary;
- Scheduling, safety compliance, site logistics, and communication with project managers;
- Inspects, coordinates, and ensures the project is on budget and schedule;
- Ensuring quality of woodwork, adherence to blueprints/permits, and productivity of the crew;
- Completes required tasks pertaining to deck construction, railing installation, pergola construction, and demolition of decks as needed;
- Monitor project progress while ensuring deadlines are met, and communicate updates effectively;
- Construction estimating and procurement of materials as needed;
- Enforce safety protocols including heavy lifting procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE);
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues promptly to minimize delays;
- Job site cleanliness, overseeing quality control, and customer communication/satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven high-quality experience in construction of decks, pergolas, rail installation, privacy walls, and hardscaping;
- Strong knowledge of blueprint/permit reading and construction/material estimating processes;
- Strong knowledge of building code and local building/construction bylaws;
- Leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple teams simultaneously;
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in project planning and execution;
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments;
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, particularly in decking-related issues;
- Valid driver's license;
- Ability to transport yourself to and from work;
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on the job;
- Pass annual criminal record checks.
