The Talent Acquisition Coordinator supports the Talent Acquisition Specialists in managing different aspects of the recruitment function. Responsibilities include administrative recruitment activities like posting of job requisitions, scheduling interviews etc. They are also responsible for ensuring data included in the ATS is kept up to date & managed appropriately.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supports Recruitment activities on an administrative front such as posting jobs, scheduling interviews etc.
  • Supports the development of recruiting best practices while focusing on innovative approaches to sourcing, searching and interview processes.
  • Monitors TA metrics, system reports, and supports Hiring Managers in adapting to new systems and processes.
  • Identifies gaps in standard operating procedures as it relates to recruitment related activities
  • Assists with onboarding related activities (i.e. preparing necessary paperwork, ensuring all information is upto date and relevant).
  • Prepares reports on new hire metrics (i.e. time to fill, time of hire, source of hire etc.).

  • Communicates verbally and in writing with employees, managers, etc. on decisions related to talent programs and policies.
  • Develops working relationships with internal clients and external partners to solicit input, and to ensure issues are effectively managed and resolved, risks are identified and expectations are met.
  • Prepares statistical reports or documents related to the monitoring and measuring of effectiveness of talent programs.
  • Participates as content expert on developing applicable policies, programs and procedures
  • Interprets legislation, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to talent programs and provides recommendations and guidance to HR Team; advises managers and employees across the organization.
  • Creates reports, briefing notes that are used by others to make an informed decision (i.e. for a course of action, to develop/approve a policy or a strategy to resolve an issue).

Education and Experience:


  • Undergraduate degree with a focus in Human Resources Management or a related field, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' talent acquisition experience, preferably in the public sector and/or unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated HR knowledge and experience in HR program and service delivery.
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking tools and HR systems and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Works with internal clients (employee, manager) focusing on improvement to HR service delivery, which has an impact across the organization and supports its public image and strategic goals.
  • Continuously monitors programs, compiles and analyzes information to ensure appropriate changes are considered when developing solutions or recommendations. Input is sought from HR employees, managers, and may also include external sources of data (i.e. researches best practices and identifies opportunities to integrate them into existing plans)
  • Builds and maintains internal networks to promote collaboration, solicit information, feedback and/or participation to facilitate successful deliverables and the best HR outputs. Use of internal networks generally involves the Business Partner and management
  • Develops and sustains contacts with industry counterparts to build information exchange networks and maintain best practice knowledge
  • Monitors effectiveness of related programs; develops HR metrics for programs/initiatives to measure outcomes and responds to results by adapting programs if required.
  • Supports the development of talent programs across the organization.
  • Analyzes strategically relevant talent challenges and makes recommendations for solutions based on internal and external insight.
