Clinical Administrator
Employment type: 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours/week)
Part Time

SASPCN Central Site (St. Albert Centre)

Salary:
To be aligned with skill level starting at $21.00/hr

Objective:

Clinical Administrators are the face of the organization and are often the first and last person that our patients are in contact with.

As ambassadors for the PCN, the Clinical Administrators have a direct impact on the patient experience by creating a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone they connect with.

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in a related field (e.g., diploma in Medical Office Assistant or
Business Administration.

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is preferred.
  • Computer skills including Office 365, Word, Outlook, Excel, Electronic Medical
Records (Healthquest), Netcare experience an asset.

  • Patientcentered, respectful demeanor with effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in providing direct care to patients is an asset.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


Administration:


  • Prepare clinic correspondence to physicians and medical homes.
  • Prepare charts in EMR for appointments.
  • Prepare exam and consult rooms and follow infection control best practices.
  • Provide coverage for vacations of colleagues.
  • Ensure patient vital signs and demographics are taken and documented.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, colleagues and Manager of Central Operations on items pertaining to efficiency.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of office and clinical supplies.

Operations:


  • Accurately logging information within the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Professional and respectful correspondence.
  • Attend staff meetings and group meetings.

Privacy:


  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding patient records and information.
  • Collect and record accurate patient demographic information and verify patient eligibility for healthcare coverage.
  • Adhere to patient privacy guidelines in the Health Information Act and Protection of
Privacy Act (FOIP), strictly uphold confidentiality at all times.


Communication:


  • Work collaboratively in a highly dynamic team environment.
  • Adapt and respond to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Build relationships with patients, team members, external stakeholders, and physicians.

Other:


  • Follow Health and Safety Guidelines and report related concerns in a timely manner as appropriate
  • Engage in positive workforce culture
