    Working conditions:

    Wage:
    $30.00/h

    Full-time, permanent job offer
    Working location: 7550 Conrad St, Burnaby, BC V5A 2H7

    Workdays/Hours:
    Monday to Friday rotation shifts: first week morning shift (6 am to 2 pm), second week afternoon shift (2 pm to 10 pm), and third week night shift (10 pm to 6 am)
    40 hours/week with overtime per the Employment Standards Act of British Columbia;
    Paid vacation 2 weeks/year.

    Duties:
    Interpret and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.

    Set up and adjust MIG and TIG welding machines, as well as plasma cutting equipment, ensuring proper settings for different materials and thicknesses.

    Select appropriate welding materials, including metal alloys and filler metals, and prepare workpieces by cleaning, grinding, or beveling as required.

    Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join metal components together, using the appropriate wire and shielding gas for the specific application.

    Execute TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding for precision and high-quality welds, especially in applications that require finer control and lower heat input.

    Utilize plasma cutting equipment to cut metal components according to specifications, maintaining accuracy and precision.
    Inspect welds and cuts visually and using measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
    Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies.

    Adhere to strict safety protocols for welding and cutting operations, including proper ventilation, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of equipment.

    Train other workers.

    Follow up with safety measures and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment and an efficient operation of the entire production line.

    Perform routine maintenance on welding and cutting equipment, including cleaning, replacing consumables, and troubleshooting minor issues.
    Identify and troubleshoot issues related to welding processes, equipment malfunctions, or material defects and implement corrective actions.


    Requirements:
    High school diploma or equivalent.
    Completion of a welding training program preferred or several months of on job training.
    Previous welding experience, preferably in a production setting.
    Familiarity with MIG, TIG welding, and plasma cutting.
    Operate metal shaping machines.
    Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
    Understanding of metals and welding equipment.
    Metal design & manufacturing (hands-on) experience required.
    Relevant experience in integrating hydraulic & pneumatic systems for implementing and/or upgrading manufacturing production lines is required.
    Must be able to lift 50 lbs weight.
    Must be able to work the morning/afternoon/night shifts.
    Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
    Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
