ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Production Department Manager, the Production Team Leader ensures that manufactured products meet the quality standards according to the appropriate equipment's specifications within established deadlines.

They train, supervise, motivate and engage their staff while optimizing available resources. They must contribute to maintaining a clean, organized and safe factory. They are responsible for the Inspector-Packers.


TASKS
Staff Management

  • Assign team members based on the production schedule
  • Manage team members' absences and relationships
  • Manage the performance of their team and ensure member upskilling
  • Train, motivate and guide team members, and recognize their efforts
  • Manage Inspector-Packers' breaks and rotate positions to optimize performance
Production Management and Documentation

  • Complete documents relating to the shift hours worked by employees and plan overtime as required
  • Follow the workstation production schedule (instructions, template, etc.) and ensure product conformity
  • Ensure operational continuity between shifts by holding team meetings
  • Provide guidance to team members to ensure compliance with established methods
  • Promote occupational health and safety and ensure staff compliance with safety rules
Quality Management

  • Check parts compliance using specialized tools and instruments
  • Manage defective products according to established procedures
  • Perform quality control of finished products according to established sampling criteria and enter the transactions in IQMS for these products
  • Inspect, sort, package and sample products according to quality criteria when required
  • Ensure the cleanliness of factory and equipment
  • Perform all other related duties

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Team management experience
  • Good communication skills in French, spoken and written
  • Proficiency with software tools (Microsoft Office suite)

Assets:


  • Knowledge of IQMS (or other manufacturing production management system)
  • Bilingual (French and English), written and oral
  • Experience in the plastics industry and knowledge of materials
