Abigail's Hotel, located in the heart of Victoria, is an award winning, 30 room, boutique bed-and-breakfast hotel that is synonymous with luxurious comfort, exceptional customer service and old-world charm.
The hotel is a family owned and operated property and takes great pride in delivering a truly memorable guest experience.
Our team is currently searching for a full-time, permanent breakfast Chef to assist the head Chef with the daily breakfast service.
A typical Chefs day at our property starts between - 6 am (baking and prep) and ends around 12-1pm, depending on occupancy.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Providing a dynamic limited-menu for the daily breakfast for our guests, including baked goods, fruit salad and breakfast-entrees of a "light", "sweet" and "savoury" variety.
- Ensure daily menu is cost effective and is of high standards in quality and presentation.
- Meet with the General Manager on a daily and/or required basis, as the General Manager determines, if necessary, to discuss any operational aspects of the kitchen.
- Coordinating and ensuring smooth delivery of the breakfast service between the staff and guests.
- Preparing a complimentary evening appetizer dish for guests plus dynamic appetizer and dessert plates when ordered in advance.
- Purchase food and supplies, striving to both eliminate outages or shorts and participate in any opportunities to minimize inventory levels, minimizing capital while ensuring guests' expectations are exceeded.
- Seek opportunities to decrease kitchen expenses and maximize productivity without compromising our guests' satisfaction.
- Oversee food deliveries to ensure the products have been delivered and stored according to provincial health regulations, and correct, and inform the General Manager of any discrepancies.
- Daily refrigeration logs and any other provincial or health safety log requirements.
- Kitchen cleanup at the end of each day.
- Fluent English language skills including verbal, reading and written.
- A track record of punctuality, reliability and dependability.
- Good personal grooming and presentation.
- Clear, precise and professional in manner.
- Courteous and friendly; with the ability to interact with our guests (open kitchen) and be knowledgeable of Victoria locations and attractions.
- Good organization skills.
- Strongly demonstrated creativity in all areas relating food.
- Selfmotivated with a positive attitude and a consistent display of professionalism.
- Food Safe Certification.
- A team player that is committed to providing excellent service, while being able to have fun at the same time.
Salary:
From $23.00 per hour
Schedule:
