Position Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Quality Control & Lab Manager is to find opportunities for quality and/or productivity improvements. This position is a point of contact between quality, production and engineering.


Responsibilities

  • Data tracking and analysis.
  • Laboratory supervision.
  • Improvement of processes and quality.
  • Optimization and standardization of machine settings, and machine adjustments.
  • Reduction of machine emissions.
  • Management and communication of offtolerance products and analysis of fundamental causes.
  • Management of quality improvement projects.
  • Monitoring new products and components in production.
  • Prioritizing personal and employee safety at all times.
  • VBA development.
  • Updating process documentation.
  • Writing monthly reports.

Qualifications and experience

  • Five years of management experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Three years of experience in employee supervision.
  • One year of project management experience.
  • University degree in a related field.
  • Good knowledge of statistical rules.
  • Strong analysis and synthesis skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Good knowledge of Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing sector is an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing sector is an asset.

Skills, competencies and languages

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team spirit, leadership, ability to mobilize others, and a sense of initiative.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor.
  • Highly organized.
