Purpose


To balance all US Market trades across all business lines, ensuring that appropriate trading groups are notified and aware of discrepancies, and to have them resolved in a timely manner.

Process trade corrections in a timely manner.

Work as par of a team providing back up and support for all functions within the Contracts and Derivatives Clearing Department.

Assume new roles and responsibilities as assigned, driven by new and changing business requirements.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Perform the following functions on a daily basis;
  • Balance all US listed market trades across all business lines on a daily basis
  • Reconcile Intercompany Trades with SCUSA on a daily basis
  • Ensure all control Account is balanced
  • Confirm Non CNS trades
  • Provide customer service in accordance with Scotia Service Standards.
  • Acquire & maintain knowledge of all systems required to complete these tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Provide coverage and support for other members of Credit & Brokerage team as required and directed. Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Must possess sound knowledge of the following systemS: BFS VersaPath, On Demand, CDS, Microsoft Office, Charles River and Webpost.
  • Ability to provide reliable and timely responses professionally to direct inquiries from Advisors, Trading desks, external Brokers/dealers and various operations and support departments for different business lines.
  • Knowledge of Brokerage industry, particularly relating to trade processing, balancing and security codes.
  • Work hours are 7:45am to 4:15pm. O.T. as required. Must be preapproved.

  • A University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), or working towards the CSC
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & listening skill
