We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our company and contribute to our continued success.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Controller who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management of the company. In addition to traditional accounting responsibilities, the Controller will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, cashflow and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and the ability to drive strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day to day operations of all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare and maintain monthly / yearly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Process accounts payable transactions to ensure timely payment to vendors.
• Process incoming payments by cheque, credit card, and EFT.
• Send invoices to clients monthly.
• Prepare and make bank deposits.
• Credit card reconciliation.
• Prepare HST/GST remittance & corporate tax installments.
• Conduct Bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of recorded transactions.
• Process employee expenses.
• Administration of employee Group Health & Dental program.
• Administration of company Deferred Profit Sharing program.
• Inventory Control.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and other financial service providers.

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Experience with QuickBooks online.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with all employees across all departments.
• Self motivated and ability to work independently with little direction.
• Strong computer skills including QuickBooks & MS Office Suite.
