    About the Role

    Mount Royal University's Faculty of Science and Technology is accepting applications for a part-time appointment for the Winter semester which will commence January and end April 2024.

    The department is seeking a qualified professional with the ability to teach the following lab:

    Weather and Climate

    Day & Time Offered: Winter 2024 term, Monday 12:30 p.m. - 2:20 p.m.

    Course Description: This course involves the study of physical principles of meteorology and climatology. Air masses and fronts, mid-latitude depressions, small and large-scale storms, atmospheric-oceanic coupled circulations, and human-induced climate change are among the topics presented. The characteristics and distributions of climates are explored. Laboratory work emphasizes North American examples.

    Responsibilities

  • Instruction: lab delivery including preparation and assessments of labs, and course D2L Brightspace site; and
  • Administration: submit course attendance sheets and final grades upon course completion, and participate in scheduled program meetings
  • Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required in Geography or a closely-related discipline with an MSc or PhD preferred.
  • Significant experience instructing undergraduate courses.
