Sr. Manager, Security Operations


Purpose of the Role Manager, Security Operations will provide leadership in operations and effectiveness of its security related programs and initiatives. The Manager will assess the efficiency of tooling within their area of responsibility to ensure the overall operations within cyber are met and exceeded. The Manager will create several KPIs to validate program / tooling performance and adjust accordingly to improve overall effectiveness.

The Manager will be responsible for people management, including:
hiring, mentoring and performance management of staff within Security Operations. Assist and advise the Sr.

Manager of Security Operations with operational and tactical matter, as they relate to the improvement and efficiency of the SOC program area.


Core Accountabilities

  • Manage ongoing relationship with partners providing high quality services related to Info Sec Operational duties
  • Review and enhance activities for IS risks control, ensuring that security operations and engineering remain compliant with security procedures, systems, and policies
  • Liaise and coordinate with Compliance to ensure that security controls are effectively working in the corporate environment
  • Collaborate with the threat and vulnerability management team in profiling threat actors, continuously looking for Indicators of compromise and offering insightful steps towards effective remediation of threat
  • Confirm assessment and approval of the events reported through the security team
  • Provide timely reporting on current threat intelligence, suspicious activities, incidents and execute playbooks
  • Assess incident reports, develop and implement out of band communication plans, support audits, as they all relate to Security Operations
  • Liaise with the SOC MSP to ensure a full Threat Intel Picture and Tactical Operations are including the most up to date IOCs, and are alerting accurately Security Engineering/Architecture Training & Awareness
  • Assist with information security assessment and testing, including penetration testing, vulnerability mitigation, threat modeling, authentication, access, and authorization controls, as directed by senior management
  • Lead Info Sec technical operational activities, such as incident escalation and tabletop exercises General Management
  • Ensure continuity of the team through crosstraining and succession planning
  • Set goals and delivery results
  • Conduct performance reviews on a regular basis

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of Information Security Operations leadership experience
  • 5+ years Information Security Incident Response leadership experience
  • 5+ years as a leader of technical Information Security Operations or Incident Response team
  • Bachelor's degree in Security Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security or a related discipline
  • One or more relevant security certifications (LPT, OSCP, GWAPT, GWEB, GCIA, GSNA, GCIH, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GIAC, GPEN, GCED, Security +) in addition to cloud certifications
  • Experience of key cloud providers and their respective IAM security products
  • Experience managing security programs in cloudcentric organizations
  • Advanced working knowledge of the following: encryption algorithms, secure communications, network and data communication protocols, familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a field such as NIST, and regulations and standards

This is a remote role.


Hiring Range:92, ,000**The hiring range has been established, however, the final salary recommendation will be determined based off the level of experience, education requirement, external market conditions and internal equity.

In this position, you will be eligible for Lifelabs annual bonus.
