    Description

    Education:

    Requirements: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

    Experience:

    Level: 1 year to less than 2 years

    Tasks

    • Build models for landscaping projects
    • Plan the layout of landscape structures
    • Trim trees to achieve specific pruning goals such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning
    • Water and take care of plants, lawns, and gardens
    • Apply necessary lawn care products like fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides
    • Carry out various treatments including pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and applying treatment solutions
    • Evaluate the health of lawns
    • Inspect trees and shrubs to identify issues and diseases
    • Organize the growth and utilization of plants for landscaping, decorative, and other purposes
    • Plant and maintain both private and public lawns and gardens
    • Handle the planting and relocation of trees

    Support for Newcomers and Refugees

    • Engage in programs or initiatives supporting newcomers and/or refugees
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs like housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.
    • Support the social and labor market integration of newcomers and/or refugees by providing access to resources like language and skills training
    • Recruit individuals affected by conflicts or natural disasters such as those from Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.
    • Aid newcomers and/or refugees in having their foreign credentials recognized

    Support for Youths

    • Participate in programs or initiatives promoting youth employment
    • Offer tailored on-the-job training for youth
    • Provide awareness training to promote a youth-friendly work environment

    Support for Indigenous People

    • Engage in programs or initiatives supporting Indigenous communities
    • Deliver cultural competency and awareness training to foster an inclusive workplace for Indigenous employees
    • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer guidance and assistance to Indigenous workers
