About us
Hockey Diversity Alliance is a non-profit organization in Toronto, ON.

Founded by 9 current and former NHL players, the Hockey Diversity Alliance exists to eradicate systemic racism and intolerance in hockey.

We realize our purpose through grassroots programs, education and policy advocacy.


We are seeking a Program Coordinator to help us advance our mission and drive positive change in the hockey community.

We are looking for a full-time program coordinator in Toronto.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion in hockey, including but not limited to training, education, and outreach activities.
  • Manage and execute the HDA's social media strategy across various platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, to raise awareness of the HDA's programs and initiatives, engage with stakeholders, and promote diversity and inclusion in hockey.
  • Travel to different program locations as needed to coordinate and deliver program activities and events.
  • Work closely with the HDA Chairman of the Board, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with community partners, organizations, and individuals to build relationships and support the HDA's mission and initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, conferences, and other activities related to the HDA's programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and provide regular reports to the HDA Chairman of the Board and Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the development and execution of fundraising strategies to support the HDA's programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records and documentation related to the HDA's programs and initiatives.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. sports management, social work, community development, or a related discipline) or at least five years of experience in program management, community development, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices.
  • Experience in social media management and knowledge of social media best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong problemsolving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel to different program locations as needed.
  • Passion for promoting diversity and inclusion in hockey.

Salary:
$48,823.00-$52,258.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
