The Centre of Movement Arts is hiring two interns to join the
2023 London Dance Festival team.

This is a short-term, temporary contract (with the possibility of more work in the future) compensated with a flat-rate honorarium.

You will work alongside Director Bizz Varty and other festival staff to prepare and present the 2023 London Dance Festival.

This will include general admin work, preparing & distributing marketing, volunteer & sponsorship coordination, program planning, booking & scheduling, and live event coordination.

You'll be trained in new skills as needed, and will learn about nonprofit arts organizations in general and London's dance community in particular, as well as arts funding, nonprofit boards, event planning, marketing, sponsorship, festivals & live outdoor performance.


You MUST be available June 30 and/or July 2. Interns will meet with Bizz weekly in person and/or on zoom leading up to the festival.


Interns will be assigned approximately 35 hours of work as follows, and a $500 honorarium in total.

  • Remote work: 15ish hours (23/week) for 6 weeks (May 16June 2 meetings with Bizz will take place on weekends or Tue/Wed eves)
  • Inperson work: 20ish hours during Festival week (June 27July 2, but mostly June 30 & July specific hours to be determined closer to festival)

Accessiblity & Accommodation

Do you have any access needs? Our organization has limited resources but would like to support in the ways that we can.

The preparation part of the job can be done indoors and in writing, from home and at accessible public spaces (like the library).

The festival weekend portion will require in-person attendance at outdoor events on Dundas Place and in Ivey Park. We may be able to accommodate low-vision and ASL needs with the help of our volunteers.

In Ivey Park interns will need to be able to move across grassy surfaces for a distance of about 5-10 meters.

The grass area is relatively flat (no hills) but may be wet.
