Description

We are looking for full time labourers to support our team.

The Ground Support is responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site.

This position requires the ground support to work long hours in a fast-paced environment and in extreme weather conditions.

This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Responsibilities:

Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed
Be cognizant of and adhere to any sitespecific safety requirements
Partake in all safety related meetings including: daily tail gates, last minute risk assessment, etc.
Work on train derailments, railway track maintenance, installing track panels
Spotting for trucks
Chaining/rigging
Must have an understanding of all power and small tools
Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping
Notify supervisor and or repair shop of any required work to be done
Required to be on call 247 for Emergency response out of town work
Other related duties as required

Qualifications:

General laboring and or farm experience an asset but not required
Valid Class 5 driver's license is required
Track maintenance experience will be an asset
Basic comprehension and ability to follow the company Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to safety and hazard assessment process
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments, and long demanding work days
Willingness to work away from home if necessary, moving from project to project as required
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting a minimum of 75lbs, working in confined spaces, standing for an extended period of time, frequent use of ladders and working at heights
Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
