As an Accounting Technician you will be operating in a fast-paced environment with ties to both GRS Operations and Client Cash Management.

The Accounting Technician is responsible for business decision support related to accounting and investment interfaces and ensures effective and appropriate accounting and financial controls are in place.


What you will do

  • Preparation of cash settlement and banking for stock trades for both NYSE and TSX.
  • Reconciliation and clearing of general ledger accounts for various business lines using advanced Excel and Access techniques.
  • Preparing and processing of journal vouchers and cheques.
  • Preparation of tax slips, tax remittance and reconciliations.
  • Investigation and resolution of accounting issues including manipulation and analysis of large amounts of data.
  • Assisting Administration departments on accounting issues.
  • Miscellaneous duties include daily cash settlement, provide quarterly financial suspense reports to Corporate Finance, initiate investigation with system support.
  • Handling inquiries and requests from multiple audiences.

What you will bring

  • A High School or General Education Diploma or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • An ability to balance multiple, competing deliverables with sensitive timelines
  • A selfstarter, team player with an ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail with a mathematical aptitude
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Customer Service focus with a cando attitude.
  • Accounting Certificate and/or related experience.
