Our facility in Mississauga, Ontario has key positions in Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support and other disciplines.

Operating since 1984, this site specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad portfolio of innovative LED and Lamp technology.

The Toronto facility serves a variety of markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing, as well as endoscopy, bioscience research, microscopy and instrumentation.


We are presently seeking are seeking an Assembly Technician who will assist the Manufacturing department with performing tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Receives detailed instructions on all work, and performs tasks under close supervision.
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to learn new processes and systems.
  • Positions, aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in fixture or other holding device;
  • Performs basic assembly tasks, such as soldering, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy, bonding, curing, laser welding, operation of pneumatic machinery, pneumatic presses, etc.;
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases or other packing material;
  • May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device;
  • Mounts assembled components such as resistors, capacitors and integrated circuits;
  • Connects components, wires to printed circuit or route via soldering;
  • Adjusts, trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics;
  • Performs inline testing, inspection using measuring instruments and electrical test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards;
  • Ability to cross train on other programs in the facility;
  • Ability to perform various repair/rework operations using approved written procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • At least 6 months to 1 years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills for report writing, documentation etc.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, and FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset
