Reporting to the AVP, Content Hub, the Manager, Social Media Content plays a key role in crafting and driving Manulife's social media content strategy.
The role is responsible for leading the development, implementation and measurement of a content strategy that brings to life our award-winning culture and company strategy on our global corporate social media channels.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and lead Manulife's organic corporate social media content strategy
- Create, curate, build and schedule social media content (copywriting and multimedia) across Manulife's corporate social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Partner with members of our global Communications community and various other partners across the organization to enhance and protect Manulife's profile across its social media channels
- Help grow and maintain Manulife's employee advocacy program, with a specific focus on ensuring a pipeline of engaging content and internal recruitment
- Support and advocate for the rules and regulations around business and employee use of social media
- Perform social media channel maintenance, ensuring profile content and branding is up to date
- Advocate for the effective use of social media; using data and knowledge of follower preferences and counsel internal partners on how to best position content to reach and engage our communities
- Act as the social media colead for crisis and issues management; identify and escalate timesensitive issues, and advise on social implications and positioning
- Stay up to date with the latest social media standard methodologies and technologies
- Colead and develop quarterly social media council sessions bringing engaging conversations and learning opportunities to the global social media team
Job requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in corporate social media content management
- Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or relevant field
- Experience with:
- content strategy (sourcing, developing, leading) and enabling others in developing compelling content
- social media publishing (Hootsuite for example), and bonus if you have worked on a social amplification program (Amplify, etc)
- briefing and working with creative agencies
- Outstanding written skills ability to research and distill complex content into concise and compelling formats for social media, including effective storytelling
- Critical thinker and problemsolving skills
- Excellent timemanagement and multitaking skills
- Great leadership, interpersonal, team player and presentation skills
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills; ability to work effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external parties, and awareness of cultural differences essential
- Indepth knowledge of the social media landscape, preferably financial services
- Strong data analysis skills to understand campaign performance and areas of improvement
Language requirements
- Fluent English, both written and spoken

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role in the primary location of Toronto, Ontario is expected to be between $82,500.00 CAD - $148,500.00 CAD.
