About the Role

We are seeking a well-rounded, creative, and technically sound communicator to join our team and enhance our communications and marketing capacity.

Specific duties of the Communications and Marketing Coordinator will include (but are not limited to):


  • Website and Intranet planning, development, and implementation

Identifying opportunities to promote awareness and profile of BSF
-
Planning an editorial content calendar and content development for various mediums (e.g., website, social media, media releases, intranet, newsletters, annual reports, impact reports, etc.)

Supporting development and implementation of marketing and advertising plans for sales and occupancy
-
Creating various communications and marketing materials for various audiences (internal and external)
-
Supporting departments with various internal/external communication, marketing, and promotional needs
-
Preparing key messages, producing, editing memorandums, policies and procedures, presentations, speaking notes, town halls for various forums or mediums

Assisting with events management
-
Providing general communications and marketing support as required

Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Marketing, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be part of a team providing support across BSF's diverse areas of service including continuing care, community programs, international health, and research and innovation. The role will support various operational communications requirements, enhance awareness, and raise the profile of BSF as charitable organization and the important work we do in our mission to be innovative force, providing high quality person-centred care and services to optimize well-being and enrich people's lives.

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will also work closely with the Resource Development team to support the development of our culture of philanthropy, promotion of resource development opportunities, effective donor/volunteer stewardship, and showcasing the impact of the important work we do.

We have recently launched a new three-year strategic plan with a renewed focus on our brand development, digital strategy, and enhancing our profile - so it's a great time to join our team

This is a fulltime, permanent position based in Calgary, AB, and the role will require travel to various BSF sites in Calgary/Okotoks.

Do you have strong technical writing skills and experience developing digital communication tools?

They must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and able to work independently, but also enjoy working as part of a team. They must have strong technical, organizational, and relationship-building skills and the ability to manage varying requirements for diverse stakeholders and audiences.

Qualifications and requirements include:

Undergraduate degree or diploma in communications or marketing (or related discipline)

Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a related role (experience in healthcare, seniors' care, or social services is preferred)

Strong understanding of digital communication platforms including experience working in website/intranet development, content management systems, search engine optimization, etc. (basic coding/programming skills are strongly preferred and considered an asset)

Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint tools for file management/intranet and project management
-
Strong writing and editing skills (experience with writing policies and procedures is an asset)

High degree of creativity (graphic design skills considered an asset)

Must be able to meet deadlines and manage a variety of projects across multiple lines of business

Will be required to work at multiple BSF locations within Calgary/Okotoks
- **Flexibility and willingness to adapt schedule if required (i.e., some weekend and evening events)
