Job Title
As a U.S.

Business Immigration Finance Clerk with EY Law LLP, you will work with our client service delivery teams to provide financial and billing support and oversight.

You will ensure that billing deadlines are adhered to and that all billing and finance systems are properly updated.

The Finance Clerk will build and maintain a strong understanding of our internal processes and finance systems, and coordinate with finance stakeholders across the team and firm.


Key Responsibilities:

Billing:


  • Track and oversee monthly billing processes, including issuance, approvals, and invoicing. Ensure that billings are timely invoiced and follow up with the team as necessary.
  • Provide training to team members billing/invoicing drafting and reviews; assist with reviews and drafting when team members are out of office
  • Ensure all billing tools and case management systems have the correct billing information, and making updates as necessary, setting up new clients in the billing tools
  • Billing tool clean ups when necessary
  • Training new hires in internal billing processes

Financial Management:


  • Weekly meetings with Partner and Financial Management Associate (FMA) to review book of business
  • Flagging expense codes to reconcile
  • Flagging codes with time but no billings
  • Flagging expiring codes/duplicate codes to close
  • Biweekly meetings with team(s) to review their Book of Business and flag all the above; check on cases to ensure they are timely billing
  • Review AR and remind engagement managers to send out reminders to clients
  • Answering any questions, the team has about billing/finance stuff
  • OA/Trust account reviews and coordination
  • Expense Reconciliations
  • Work with FMA to request write ups/write offs
  • Closing old codes when new ones are opened (ensuring team starts using new ones right away, work with FMA to block the old codes for time, etc., move expenses to still be billed to new codes)
  • Monitoring and requesting applicable updates to billing contacts in internal finance systems and the book of business

Reporting:


  • Reviewing weekly revenue and billing reports and flagging issues/updates to the team and Program Manager
  • Running ad hoc reports to support billing and finance projects
  • Updating fee charts to reflect annual increases

Operations:


  • Coordinate with the internal operations and finance teams to learn and provide input on new billing tools and updates
  • Work with team leads to implement new processes related to billing and finance

Qualifications/skills:


  • Undergraduate University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent experience
  • 12 years of training, education or experience in finance (expense reconciliations, financial reporting systems, financial management)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail
  • Selfstarter: ability to work independently in a fastpaced, dynamic teamoriented environment.
  • Ability to multitask and take on a variety of projects
  • High level of professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information
