The YMCA of Southwestern Ontario is a multi service, non-profit values-based charity that serves Windsor-Essex, Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, London, Middlesex-Elgin, Huron-Perth, and Oxford counties.

Part-Time Child Care Educators - (Supply) I year contract
Start Date:
Ongoing
Qualifications & Experience:
- Confirm that you hold a standard firstaid certificate
- Current successful Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
- Must be 18 years of age
- Experience working with children 012 years in a work or school placement setting
- Plans to enroll, or in current pursuit of a diploma in Early Childhood Education OR in pursuit or holds a diploma or a degree in a related field of study is an asset
- Meet immunization requirements outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 201
- It is a YMCA of Southwestern Ontario requirement that all employees and volunteers be fully vaccinated against COVID19. ( two vaccinations) Exemptions will be granted upon receipt of acceptable proof of a permissible Human Rights Code ground.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Starting from $ $21.00 per hour (includes a provincial wage enhancement grant)
- A YMCA personal membership at our health and fitness branches
- Vacation entitlement in accordance with the employment standards regulations
- Two paid personal days per year
- Wellness Program
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday (no weekends)
- Can work a minimum of two shifts per week/eight shifts per month
- Flexible shift times shifts range from hours per day, shifts can vary from 6:30 am 6:00 pm
- Able to submit personal availability for shifts 4 weeks in advance, using a webbased scheduling system
- Shifts are scheduled in advance whenever possible according to personal availability and the centres' needs
Responsibilities:
- To ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 and health unit regulations
- YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures.
- To ensure the implementation of the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum to meet the needs, special needs, interests, and talents of all children.
- Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in your daily work.
- Flexibility in supporting multiple YMCA locations
