  • The successful candidate will work as a Laboratory Technician, either on an alternating 12-hour shift as a member of the shift team, or in an 8-hour Day office during business hours ( non-shift).
  • The successful candidate will work effectively in a team environment and have strong troubleshooting skills.
  • The successful candidate will interact with mentors (site manager, sponsor, experienced senior leaders in operations) and discuss their progress with them regularly
  • Responsibilities

  • Responsible to the Core Team and the Site Manager for:
  • In depth understanding of all lab equipment
  • All routine analysis for all operating transforms plus troubleshooting and resolving problems related to the lab equipment or procedures
  • Performs special studies and analyses above and beyond that required for the daily operation of the plant
  • Running standards, ordering chemicals and operating equipment for the lab
  • Obtaining knowledge of the suppliers of the equipment
  • Writing procedures, and refining or developing procedures as required for technical tests or equipment calibration
  • Ensuring quality of lab analysis (equipment and analyst)
  • Maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, including ISO critical equipment
  • Leading the development of materials management inventory controls
  • Welding gas cylinder management
  • SDS management
  • Requirements

  • Diploma in one of the following; Laboratory technologist or Chemical Engineering technologist.
  • Fluent English language skills, written and spoken
  • Interested in production and technology related career
  • Responsible and Communicative
  • Ability to be a team player with involvement and integrity. Work well in a flat team based organization.
