Big Bear Trading Company is looking for a detail-oriented retail enthusiast to join our store in Banff this summer Our Visual Merchandiser/Team Leader helps manage daily store operations and maintains our visual merchandising standards while fostering our core values of Passion, Teamwork, Integrity, and Excellence.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Guide, coach, and mentor team members; help build a high-performing team through motivation, recognition, and accountability.
- Assist with training team members; identify training needs and help coordinate skill-building opportunities for team members.
- Drive daily store-level sales.
- Lead by example with excellent customer service skills, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to quality, teamwork, and passion.
- Implement seasonal and brand-aligned visual merchandising tactics, ensuring the store reflects our brand standards and customer experience expectations.
- Attend merchandising meetings and execute changes where required.
- Ensure the stock team maintains appropriate stock-to-salesfloor product flow.
We'll be looking for the following qualifications:
- 1+ years of retail supervisory experience.
- Secondary school education.
- Proven leadership in coaching retail teams.
- Experience in visual merchandising, operational excellence, and KPI achievement.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Enthusiasm for outdoor apparel and life in the Rocky Mountains.
- Ability to safely lift 30 lbs and move throughout the sales floor.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
