Résumé du travail:

Under guidance, direction and general supervision, sets-up, operates test equipment and conducts specific and routine tests. Disassembles and assembles test samples. Records technical data, drafts reports, writes product descriptions. Notes and records substandard features of products. Acts as an assistant in complex or unusual tests, under guidance from senior staff.

Responsibilities:

Maintains good housekeeping, taking care of safety and using PPE at all times.
Setsup and operates all test equipment and performs all tests within a certain product area; determines compliance with requirements and recommends the granting of certification; carries out specialized testing when required.
Performs the tests in accordance with work orders issued by jobholders; conducts routine tests independently; acts as an assistant in complex or unusual tests, under guidance from senior staff or job holder when performing one or more phases of the test work (i.e. reexamination and audits & investigation tests).
Records technical data, drafts reports, writes product descriptions.
Performs mathematical calculations required to summarize test results. Relates test results to product specification. Acts as a liaison with other departments as required by PGM.
Assembles and disassembles test samples, hooksup laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing; operates most laboratory test equipment.
Notes and records discrepancies of products which may appear before or during the tests and refer them to PGM, Certifier or Senior Lab Tech.
Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carry out assigned laboratory cleanup duties.
Knowledge on how to operate basic test equipment.
May require to purchase tools/equipment from outside shops.
Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Education & Experience:

3year Engineering Technician (OACETT) or equivalent Associate's degree in Engineering Technology 34 years of related experience Experience with testing to Wiring Device Standards including but not limited to CSA C22.2 No.21 Cord Sets and Power Supply Cords, No. 42 Receptacles and Attachment Plugs, No. 65 Wire Connectors, and No. 158 Terminal Blocks (or the related UL Standards), would be considered an asset.

Skills:

Selfmotivated and clientservice oriented.
Demonstrated ability to work with moderate to mínimal supervision.
Must be teamoriented with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated abilities to: plan, organize, prioritize, followthrough, and evaluate assigned functions and duties.
Knowledge in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) procedures and guidelines.
