Your Opportunity:


The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Assistant (PSRA) works with a multidisciplinary team assisting with therapeutic programming within an Ambulatory Day Hospital program that operates out of the Summit Centre for Youth Resilience.

Under the guidance of Registered Nurses and Family Counselors, the Psychosocial Rehab Assistant also supports the implementation of individual and group program plans for children and adolescents participating in the Day Hospital Program.

Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development, and therapeutic interventions is essential to optimal patient care.

The Program uses Trauma Informed Care, Attachment, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Family Centered Care as its core philosophy's to care.

The Psychosocial Rehab Assistant (PSRA) works with a multidisciplinary team assisting with therapeutic programming within an in-patient or day treatment Mental Health program.

Under the guidance of Registered Nurses and Family Counselors, the Psychosocial Rehab Assistant also supports the implementation of individual and group program plans for children and adolescents admitted to the mental health care unit.

Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development, and therapeutic interventions is essential to optimal patient care.

This specific PSRA opportunity involves offering therapeutic support to patients who may be holding in Emergency Department or who are placed 'off service' in medical units throughout the hospital.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma in Social Work or Child and Youth Care or completion of Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Child & Youth Care Studies or Social Work Diploma with relevant experience considered. Where eligible, current registration with a corresponding professional college and association required. Previous experience in child and adolescent mental health is essential. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial and behavioral intervention strategies. Focus on positives and strengths in children and adolescents, while promoting self-care management. Excellent communication skills required. Computer skills required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or BA psychology preferred. Brain Story Certification Excellent working knowledge of Collaborative Problem Solving, Attachment Theory, and Trauma Informed Care. Nonviolent crisis intervention (CPI) certificate preferred.
