Use your outstanding administrative skills to contribute to the legal protection of British Columbians


In the role of Superior Courts Document Management Clerk, you are responsible for the transfer and movement of critical court records including orders from registries, judgements, court files from scheduling, Judiciary mail etc.

This means physically transporting these documents from one place to another and sometimes acting as a driver for Justices and dignitaries.


Additional duties include arranging for supplies; distributing mail; undertaking bulk photocopying; making external deliveries; moving small items of furniture; escorting visitors; acting as a driver for Justices and dignitaries; and, other similar tasks.

The Document Management Clerk exercises sound judgement when dealing with highly confidential materials and has the ability to work with tact and respect in communicating with and providing services for Justices, Court officials, members of the legal profession and the public.

Job Requirements:


  • Secondary School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year customer/client service experience.
  • Experience working in an environment where there is a large emphasis on rules and guidelines;
  • Experience working in a highvolume fastpaced environment while managing strict deadlines and changing priorities;
  • Experience managing confidential materials or information.
  • A minimum of 5 years active driving experience.
  • A valid Class 4 (restricted) BC driver's license at the time of hire (preferred) OR be able to obtain a Class 4 (restricted) BC driver's license within 6 months of hire.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience working in a legal setting such as Court Services, Judiciary, Law Office or Justice Sector.
  • Experience with records management.
  • Experience in administrative work in a professional environment.
  • Successful completion of a Customer Service training program.
  • Graduation from defensive driving course or recognized driving training program with experience transporting people.

Proviso:


  • May be required to work flexible hours and undertake overtime on short notice if required.
  • Must be able to regularly lift of documents, books, boxes, etc. of up to 50lbs.
