Description

Building Permits are required to construct, alter, repair, or demolish a building.

The summer student duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Review design drawings and specifications for compliance with the requirements of the Ontario Building Code and all other applicable laws (i.e.: municipal By-Laws, standards, other related codes)
• Conduct Fence Inspections;
• Responds to related inquiries;
• Provide guidelines, recommendations and interpretations regarding the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws to external and internal customers, including architects, engineers, lawyers, general public and others;
• Reviews all agreements and legal documents to ensure that the terms and conditions precedent to the permit issuance have been fulfilled.
• Calculates all applicable fees and municipal charges;
• Maintain amicable relations with the public and fellow staff; and
• Other administrative customer service duties.
