Performance Analyst

The Opportunity:

Key Accountabilities:

Assess and prepare monthend operating expense accruals
Assist in preparing the monthly Operating Cost Report for U2, with extensive analysis on operating expense and capital spend compared to forecast and budget
Analyze and assist in preparing monthly forecasts, annual budget and long range plans for the area
Investigate and report monthly, quarterly and annual cost variances to budget and forecast
Meet regularly with the value stream business managers to review monthly costs, compare to forecasts and budgets and provide variance analysis
Participate in area business meetings and provide support as requested by area management
Develop ad hoc reports and analyses as requested using Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI and Essbase
Liaise with the Horizon Attest, Horizon LEMs, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Financial Accounting teams on transaction processing to provide complete analysis

Other Details:

Job location: Calgary office, AB

Shift schedule: 5x

Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
This position will require occasional site visits to our Horizon Oil Sands site

Skills & Qualifications:

Typically 3 to 5 years of related industry experience with postsecondary degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration
CPA designation preferred
Expertise in Financial and Management accounting and Microsoft Excel; experience in PowerBI, Essbase and Maximo will be an asset
