Vancor Construction Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Superintendent to join our growing team of professionals to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily operations on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and management software. The Site Superintendent will play a critical role in coordinating teams, supervising subcontractors, and maintaining quality standards across all phases of construction.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, architects, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth workflow
- Monitor progress and prepare detailed reports on project status, including timelines and budgets
- Implement quality control measures to ensure work meets specified standards and schematic requirements
- Managing and maintaining the project schedule
- Leading weekly trades meetings on-site
- Coordinate with inspectors and consultants for inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to guide onsite activities
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project execution
- Supervise site personnel and subcontractors, providing guidance and resolving issues promptly
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Projects, Wrike or similar tools for scheduling, documentation, and communication
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment
- Assist in construction estimating and budgeting processes as needed
- Ensuring required documentation is compiled for every project including safety documents, daily reports, etc.
- Communicate with the client and keep a good on-site relationship with our trade partners
Requirements:
- High School Diploma and;
- At least 2 -3 years experience working the Construction Industry in a similar role/position
- Certification in Construction Management an asset
- Experience in Pull Planning and Lean Construction Methodologies a strong asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and safety standards in construction environments
- Ability to equally follow and provide direction, and take initiative when required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Highly motivated and detail oriented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with changes in a positive manner
- Proficient in English - written & spoken
- A good understanding of residential construction (BCBC 2024/Energy Step Code)
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Skilled in using construction management tools for scheduling, documentation, and project tracking
- Familiarity with schematics and technical specifications relevant to various types of construction projects
Further Requirements
- Class 5 Driver's license
- Personal Vehicle required
Work Week
- Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours a week.
