Description

Beauce Atlas, a leading fabricator in structural steel, is currently seeking a senior estimator. This is a permanent, full-time job.

Under the supervision of the estimating coordinator, the senior estimator is responsible for estimating the framework cost for the construction of a steel building.

Specific duties

Verification of structural and architectural plans and estimating costs:
Read specifications;
Note the quantities of steel on the structural plans

Check and process Addendums, RFI;
Under the supervision of the estimate coordinator, make price requests to subcontractors;
Produce a statement of quantities using estimation software;
Compile the data in order to proceed, under the supervision of the coordinator, with the transfer of the project to the chief estimator;
Meet established deadlines for submission dates.

Required qualifications

Training in reading shop drawings (a must)

Fluent in spoken and written French and English

Ability to use a computer database

Ability to work in a team

Ability to work on several projects at once
