Industrial Electrician - Harrow - Zekelman Industries

Overview

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking an Electrician for our facility located in Harrow, Ontario. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisors and Maintenance Manager. Compensation: $40.35/hour + maintenance incentive.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to plan wiring layouts.
• Install conduit and wiring.
• Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
• Install and connect fixtures and components to form circuits.
• Test completion of circuits using test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty parts. Repair damaged, broken, or unsafe equipment.
• Connect electrical power to sound and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems.
• Carry out Preventative & Predictive Maintenance.
• Utilize and record work in CMMS (SAP) daily.
• Ability to work alone and with little guidance.
• Work with teammates and Electrical Supervisors utilizing a continuous improvement mindset to improve equipment uptime & effectiveness.
• Follow all Health and Safety procedures set out by Atlas Tube and OSHA, including LOTO.
• Ensure all guards and safety equipment is in place and operational before turning the equipment over to the operator.

Qualifications

• Certificate of qualification required (either 309A Preferred or 442A license).
• Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC (ControlLogix) & Drive (PowerFlex) Programming & Software.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours.
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours.
• Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Other physical requirements as needed for job.
