We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated

Scholarship sand Program Coordinator to join our team in UR International. As the Scholarship and Program Coordinator, you will be the driving force behind the International Student of Distinction Scholarship, overseeing its management, administration, and ensuring the success of our scholars. Your role involves developing and implementing a range of academic, social and transitional support programs that empower our international scholars to thrive.


What You'll Do:

Scholarship Management: Craft, review and implement scholarship guidelines, while tracking recipients' progress and providing vital administrative support.

Program Development: Identify opportunities for growth, create impactful academic and non-academic programs, and collaborate campus-wide for comprehensive student success.

Specialized Advising: Offer specialized guidance on immigration, university policies, student transitions, settlement matter, and more, ensuring a seamless experience for our international students. Responsible for counseling, advising, and supporting students regarding financial, personal, social, and academic issues impacting studies.

Position Requirements


What You Will Bring to the Position:

  • A university degree
  • Minimum of two years' experience related to duties outlined. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role

  • Indepth knowledge of Scholarships process and Financial Aid.
  • Advanced knowledge of database management systems.
  • Experience in records management and tracking of information.
  • Extensive knowledge of budget management.
  • Must have indepth knowledge of Canadian government policies in relation to international student traveling, studying, and working in Canada.
  • Experience in international retention program and project development, delivery, evaluation, and assessment.
  • Knowledge of crisis and risk management and planning.
  • Experience organizing and managing small
- and large-scale events.

  • Vast knowledge of university setting, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to communicate in a respectful and courteous manner, efficiently and effectively with international partners and key UofR stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and monitor issues impacting international students, as well as approach the solution to issues with speed, creativity, and accuracy.
  • Ability to practice sound judgement consistently.
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills; ability to guide students through emotionally challenging situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and empathy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, workflows, and projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials and reports, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • High level of reading, writing, and analytical skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent English skills; ability to communicate in an additional language is an asset.
  • Experience working directly with international students at the postsecondary level is an asset.
  • International experience beyond personal travel is an asset.
  • May be require to perform duties offcampus and/or after regular business hours.
