Job Summary

  • The Registrar's Office (RO) is a large, multiunit, multisite operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Manager, Business Strategy, the Business Analyst and Systems Reporting Specialist is a key resource in conducting business process analysis and systems improvements for the new international student tuition fee model project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects (International Student Tuition Fee Model), analyse requirements and issues, identify innovative and effective solutions, implement supporting systems and processes.
  • Provide systems expertise in analysing business processes, developing reports that provide insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business owners (Financial Services), IT teams, and other stakeholders to identify requirements, design solutions, and implement changes.
  • Maintain a professional relationship and interact effectively with project team members, stakeholders, and external contacts.
  • Design and develop reports that provide appropriate information. The job holder will work with stakeholders to identify reporting needs to ensure that reports are accurate and delivered ontime.
  • Develop supporting documentation (such as project timelines, technical/functional specifications, test plans, training documentation).

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, plus a approximately three to five years' experience in a relevant field (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis and process improvement.
  • Highly motivated individual with analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Assets
