Oz Kafe is looking to add a part-time cook to the team for our Garde Manger/Cold Side position.

We are a Casual Fine-Dining restaurant with a European inspired menu. Our focus is on seasonal cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients, and making everything from scratch. We're in search of a passionate young cook to join our team of positive professionals. This is a healthy a supportive work environment.

This is an entry level position that is ideal for a culinary school student. 2-3 shifts per week are currently available (weeknights and weekend). Support shifts will start at 5 or 6pm and finish around 10-11pm depending on business levels and reservation times. Any shifts worked independently will start slightly earlier.

Some experience is preferred but not a requirement. We are willing to train the right person. You must be a career minded cook that's excited about cooking from scratch and using quality local ingredients.


You will be assisting on cold-side during busy events or weekend services, or potentially (with experience) working the station by yourself on quieter nights.

You will primarily be assisting with plating and assembly of appetizers, cheese & charcuterie boards, and dessert during service.

If working the station by yourself you will be checking prep levels and creating a prep list for the day.

You will be responsible for producing the necessary prep items in time for service to begin.


Daily duties include:
- wash and cut vegetables
- make mayo, mustard, salad dressings, and pickles from scratch
- use a commericial blender, food processor, deli meat slicer
- slicing/cutting and portioning charcuterie meats and cheeses
- plating food orders as they come in during dinner service
- maintaining a clean and organized work space
- help with washing/putting away dishes
- making a daily prep to do list
- labeling all food prep
- ensure top quality and freshness of food being served

Compensation for this position is $16.50/hr plus biweekly tip shares of another approximately 2.50$/hr depending on business levels.

If you perform well you will be given the opportunity to take on full-time hours or learn new stations as positions become available.
