Security Guard - Markham, Canada - Pathway Communications
Description
Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, the security guards will provide exceptional, 24/7 security to the premises of Pathway's corporate office at Markham.
Responsibilities:
- Man the building and the premises to ensure only authorized persons are allowed entry
- Greet visitors at the entrance & follow protocol for authorized entry
- Patrol the premises to ensure there is no unauthorized activity in addition to video surveillance of premises (internal and external)
- Escalate issues according to protocol
- Monitor cooling systems, UPS and Generator systems
- Monitor fire alarm/suppression systems; monthly inspection of Fire Systems and Extinguishers
- Perform daily patrols & take readings of Data Center/Electrical Room temperature as well as load readings of electrical equipment according to checklist
- Complete shipping & receiving requirements, maintain courier supplies, maintain & distribute incoming & outgoing mails as required
- Ensure Janitorial Staff follow maintenance responsibilities
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts including overnight in addition to weekdays & weekends
Open to work on a part-time basis: 2 shifts per week:
- Valid Security Guard License
- Must have valid First Aid and CPR Certification
- Must be residing in and legally authorized to work in Canada
Salary:
$16 per hour
Schedule:
Must be flexible for at least two shifts per week; 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am, weekdays or weekends.
