About the Role:


The Digital Platforms team is seeking an experienced Support & Sustainment Technical Lead to play a pivotal role in the operational excellence and continuous enhancement of the Digital Case Management System (DCMS).

As part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing modern digital services to Nova Scotians, this position involves close collaboration with the DCMS Product Manager, Product Owner, and other key stakeholders.


The Technical Lead will not only ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the DCMS platform but also spearhead the design of operational processes, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead the development team towards best practices and architectural excellence.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide Tier 2 support alongside the Platform Support Analyst for DCMS implementations, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Lead the design of operational processes and support frameworks for the DCMS platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents/problems, coordinating with vendors, partners, and developers.
  • Write clean, maintainable code for technical solutions and review developer work to meet provincial design standards.
  • Offer technical leadership and guidance, fostering best practices and innovative problemsolving.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team to align user needs with platform features and enhancements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test scripts, and conduct quality assurance testing.
  • Employ Agile methodologies for product delivery, including sprint management and backlog prioritization in JIRA.
  • Assist with product release cycles, acceptance testing, and internal client training.
  • Foster a culture of humility, learning, collaboration, and ownership within the team.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, JSON, OpenShift, GitHub, API, and REST architecture.
  • Strong background in Agile development and project management methodologies.
  • Effective in multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of prioritizing complex tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record in using performance metrics to drive service improvements.
  • Leadership in continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional problemsolving and research skills.
  • Experienced in mentoring and coaching.

Assets:


The following will be considered as an asset:

  • Experience with project and issue tracking software, such as JIRA or Assyst.
  • Knowledge of the Province's IT and Security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and secure digital service delivery.
