This hands-on business development professional will touch all technical disciplines and markets and must be a collaborator who can self-impose deadlines, effectively manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and enjoys working with different personality styles and management levels, both in person and across offices.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Support account management efforts to enhance client relationships, contribute to winning work strategies, and drive a culture of accountability.
  • Proactively utilise the range of tools and resources provided by the Americas Key Client Program to support strategic initiatives and help drive diversification and growth strategies.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Market Leader(s) on annual business planning and regular reporting and analysis.
  • Bring an understanding of the external environment (market intelligence, capital improvement plans, key trends, news), business drivers, and client personas and journeys, to advise market leaders and key account teams on strategic positioning that impacts opportunity forecasting and conversion.
  • Focus on account diversification by developing "bigpicture thinking" about the entire account portfolio, and understanding what GHD is currently delivering to these client types (within the Region and beyond). Connect GHD's technical, Advisory and Digital practitioners to the right opportunities across the clients within the portfolio through effective communication and influence with Relationship Managers and client account teams.
  • Ensure understanding and sharing of the regional Markets annual business plans and GHD's Canadian implementation plans for three Futures initiatives (Future Communities, Future of Water, Future Energy) across key accounts. Leverage existing and new value propositions and solutions to help key account teams with client conversations and diversification strategies.
  • Be a change agent for GHD's Client Experience principles, leveraging tools and behaviours to positively influence our clients' experience partnering with GHD, especially in the Awareness, Acquisition, Consideration, and Delight sales phases.
  • Work with the business development team and technical practitioners to create compelling messages that convey GHD's differentiation in the market. Translate positioning and win strategies into key themes and drive them into fitforpurpose client presentations, case studies and other business development documents to support winning work and client development initiatives. Develop visibility of the portfolio across key wins, strategic growth and client development successes, and collaborate with regional leadership and the Americas Marketing & Communications team for strategy alignment and storytelling, contributing to the strengthening of GHD's brand in the market.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, communications or other related.
  • 7 to 10 years of prior experience in the A/E/C industry, with experience in integrated market solutions that span multidisciplinary offerings such as Water, Infrastructure, Transportation and Property & Buildings.
  • Working knowledge of the public sector.
  • Experience with business planning and strategy development.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with a diverse team of technical and corporate staff in a complex matrix organization, across multiple geographies, in order to accomplish common objectives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to influence decision making and drive clientfocused behaviours.
  • Detailoriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Salesforce and Power BI is an asset.
