Job Summary

This is highly responsible administrative work overseeing, coordinating, and directing significant provincial contracts between the four NL Regional Health Authorities.

This position performs standardization of contracts, maintains contract schedules, commitments, implementations, evaluations and maintains the reporting schedule for government officials.

This position works closely with the Shared Services Supply Chain team regarding provincial contract administration, and management.

They coordinate and administer procurement contract data between four regional health authorities to foster standardization practices, and maintain procurement contract schedules using excel tables; running reports from HealthPRO Connect, Meditech, maintaining and updating current document.

They will also collect data through computerized system(s), manipulate data, prepare reports for government and distribute to requesting representatives from government for various projects and reports.


The Departmental Program Coordinator completes Meditech item dictionary maintenance, works closely with vendors in dealing with new contract and renewals, changes and item usage and organizes and co-ordinates clinical and administrative staff purchasing and procurement work from a number of cross functions to ensure successful evaluations and implementations of products for complex product conversions.

This position will also coordinate purchasing contracts for the four health authorities including completion of surveys for commitment, financial analysis, product evaluations, education and supplier selection, as well as research, recommend and implements new products, practices, policies and procedures for contract management and supply chain standardization.

Other related duties as required.


Job Demands
Occasionally moves or lifts objects between 1- 5 lbs. such as pens, paper, file folders, or boxes.

Regularly performs fine finger/precision computer work requiring steadiness and accurate movement/control.


Visual and hearing concentration is required to observe, consult with staff, to work on documents or to listen to staff/public on the telephone or in person.


Job Qualifications
Completion of a recognized/approved three-year Business Management Program (Business, Supply Chain preferred) is required.

Minimum of three years experience in supply chain is required.

College level courses in Procurement Management and experience in contract management would be considered assets.

Demonstrated experience in purchasing, with direct experience in the trade/procurement field, purchasing and materials handling.

Knowledge of NL Public Procurement Act is required.

Demonstrated effective problem solving, organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills


The ability to work independently using required tools and contract commitments; considerable initiative and judgment; and strong attention to detail.


Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Products in particular advanced skills in Excel, especially the ability to manipulate data and prepare reports.

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
