The Manager, Infrastructure and Capacity Planning is a key member of the Ontario Renal Network (ORN) management team working with Provincial and Regional clinical and administrative leadership.

The Infrastructure and Capacity Planning team is responsible for supporting the work of the province's 27 Regional Renal Programs through maintaining and advancing foundational provincial program infrastructure, including managing the ORN's review process for renal capital projects, provincial dialysis capacity planning, provincial dialysis equipment strategy and funding management, and monitoring and managing compliance with the ORN's Regional Renal Models of Care.

The Manager also works closely with the Ontario Health Supply Chain team on renal related procurements and maintaining strong business relationships with dialysis vendors.


  • The Manager is responsible for mentoring and providing leadership to team members while ensuring effective communication among members of the provincial renal network. The Manager will establish and maintain working relationships with partners, and promote activities and products to all stakeholders using a variety of tools. The Manager also has a key role in communicating with providers across the province and with staff at the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Manage the ORN's processes for the review and endorsement of renal capital projects, including liaising with relevant OH Region teams and the Ministry of Health's Health Capital Investment Branch.-
  • Manage the ORN's processes for provincial dialysis capacity planning, including supply and demand forecasting across over 105 facilities, and regular engagement with the Ministry of Health's Health Capital Investment Branch.-
  • Manage the ORN's provincial equipment strategy, including budget management and funding allocations for new and replacement home and in-facility equipment, as well as maintenance of the ORN's capital asset management database.-
  • Monitor hospital compliance with monthly renal reporting into CritiCall Ontario's Provincial Hospital Resource System.-
  • Monitor and manage compliance with the ORN's Regional Renal Models of Care, a practical framework that guides the delivery of chronic kidney disease care across the province.-
  • In partnership with Ontario Health Supply Chain, manage renal related provincial purchasing initiatives.-
  • Maintain and strengthen business relationships with dialysis supply vendors.-
  • Supports the Director in developing the operational/portfolio strategy and overall plan.-
  • In coordination with the Director, determines the required frameworks, processes and tools to execute on the operational/portfolio plan.-
  • Oversees the day-to-day activities of multiple complex portfolio areas.-
  • Monitors operational and portfolio performance; provides related status updates and reports.-
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and escalates key issues/risks to the Director; proposes and executes solutions to address challenges or mitigate risks.-
  • Monitors budget across multiple complex operational areas and supports the Director in managing the overall budget.-
  • Manages a team of resources, including: setting performance expectations; allocating work; overseeing and ensuring the quality of outputs; measuring/reporting on performance outcomes; and performance management.-
  • Manages relationships and engages a diverse set of stakeholder groups (internal and external), either to collaborate on delivery of key activities or solicit support and buy-in for operational/portfolio activities; organizes and participates in committees as required.-
  • Work collaboratively and support integration with Ontario Health staff as well as with renal stakeholders across the province, including working closely with the ORN's Provincial Medical
