We are seeking a
Program Manager to join our team in
Winnipeg, MB OR Toronto, ON
The Program Manager is responsible for effective management & delivery of the portfolio of projects within Technology Transformation. This is a highly visible role interfacing with all levels of stakeholders across the business. The Program Manager is responsible for steering the program and ensuring projects are well planned & executed.

They must be able to take active leadership in timely decision making, and manage scope, milestones, risks, budget, and project interdependencies.

This is a critical role in the organization requiring a combination of program management, technical and interpersonal skills to be successful.


The Program Manager
will:


  • Responsible for planning, governance and overseeing the successful delivery of complex program including daily program management throughout the life cycle; governance controls, and monitoring program progress
  • Partner with business, IT, and vendor teams to understand strategic initiatives and critical success factors
  • Create program plans and program roadmaps for timely delivery of all projects within the program
  • Keep leadership and stakeholders informed with detailed and accurate visibility to program status (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, budget, milestones) on a standard cadence through status reporting and project/resource reviews
  • Oversee program reporting, ensuring that reporting to leadership, Steering Committee and the Board is timely, accurate, and that program risks are identified, monitored, and proactively managed
  • Lead program and project status meetings with teams and leadership
  • Implement project management best practices. Support project managers in achieving a high level of project management across the entire program/project life cycle
  • Review project plans/activities and provide feedback to project managers
  • Ensure effective project & program governance
  • Ensure that program financials and forecasts are managed and monitored
  • Oversee resource planning. Determine staffing needs for projects and work with business/IT leaders to coordinate the assignment of staff to projects.
  • Optimize resource utilization across the program
  • Coordinate and manage the project dependencies across the program
  • Ensure valid and effective vendor contracts are in place for both staff augmentation and vendor statements of work
  • Work with project managers, providing oversight and support in managing all aspects of program delivery including scope, schedule, risks, costs, resources
  • Build a "learning community" of practice within the project delivery discipline in establishing a culture of continuous improvement in order to achieve higher maturity
  • Maintain an effective communications plan to ensure frequent, accurate, and timely communication to all stakeholders, including senior executives
  • Ensure PM's keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues

To be successful
as a
Program Manager with People Corporation, you will need**:

  • Computer science degree or diploma
  • PMP designation
  • Minimum 10 years' progressive project management experience managing complex multifaceted/ cross functional programs
  • Experience planning and implementing technology projects
  • Extensive experience with traditional and innovative project management processes, techniques, tools across agile, waterfall, iterative methods
  • Extensive experience with contract and vendor management
  • Ability to distill complex issues, develop and implement effective strategies to drive alignment across multiple constituents and client groups
