***: In constant contact with our sales team and the Production Planning Specialists, the
Estimator is responsible for providing timely "best practice" estimates for all the product and services Lowe-Martin offers.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the estimating software used at LMG.
  • Develop detailed estimating knowledge of all the production equipment/procedures used at LMG.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and competitive factors affecting LMG.
  • Act as a resource to the sales team on complex products requiring specific knowledge.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of new technologies and processes

  • Participate in the evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Support company programs designed to ensure our overall competitiveness

  • Assist other estimators to ensure we maintain high output levels.
  • Assist in providing training and orientation to new hires as well as existing personnel, focusing on the distinctive competencies being built at LMG.
  • Assist in the development of new product designs (i

establishing rates and standards)

  • Assist in identifying information and resource gaps in sales and estimating departments in order to determine training needs regarding new processes and equipment.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on internal procedures and processes as part of a continuous improvement process.

MUST HAVES:

-
To be considered, you have a minimum of at least 3 years direct work experience in a commercial print environment or creative agency.**:

  • Familiarity with MIS software.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office including MS Access, Excel and Word.
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team oriented collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adept at conducting research into projectrelated issues and products.
  • Customer service skills an asset.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment is crucial.
  • Meticulous, detailed & accurate
