We're Ian Martin Group and we've partnered with our client who is a MSP (managed services provider) that works with a variety of clients in the oil and gas industry all the way to insurance, supporting them with their IT needs.


Now, our client is looking to hire an experienced Onsite IT Support Analyst in their Vancouver location to support their client.

What you'll be doing


As the IT Support Analyst you will be reporting to the Service Team Lead working directly in the client office environment.

Your main responsibilities include providing up to L2 technical support (including problem and request resolution), hardware, software and account configuration, routine report generation, system checks, and management of peripherals.


Practically speaking you will:

  • Respond to, and prioritize walk in requests, as well as escalated requests from service desk.
  • Receive & respond to escalated tier 1, 2, and 3 support requests.
  • Work with senior staff in planning, design and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintain current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommend modifications as necessary.
  • Establish standard operating and usage policies and procedures for computer acquisition and usage.
  • Implement and maintain VPN networks for remote site offices (including site to site).
  • Work closely with client business unit managers and IT users to assess organizational IT requirements and training needs and develop strategies to implement and support hardware and software tools
  • Develops technology designs, cost estimates, resource requirements, work plans and time schedules to meet objectives.
  • Maintain landline phone system.
  • Assist with end user cell phone issues on Blackberry, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Desktop, Server & Network peripheral rollouts.
  • Desktop, Server & Network peripheral 'break/fix'.
  • Attend regular onsite client checkups to ensure top quality service is being delivered.
  • Participate in the oncall rotation (1 week every 34 months).

Qualifications include:


  • Postsecondary education in computer science, computer information systems, networking, or systems analysis.
  • 3 + years of experience providing up to level 2 IT support
  • Certifications: Microsoft MCSE, MCSA, or MCTIP (in progress or completed)
  • VMWare Experience or Certification
  • 2+ years relevant IT experience fully supporting and building smallmedium sized business environments.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, 2016, Azure, Office 365 Enterprise Suite, Active Directory, GPO's, Routing and Switching, Firewalls, VPNs, Virus and Security, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
