Description

We are an established Civil Construction contractor that is looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join our growing company.


Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Safety Officer will lead, direct, and support the implementation our Health & Safety Management programs.

They will partner with stakeholders to promote a holistic approach to Health & Safety by developing risk-based programs focused on preventative strategies and industry-leading practices.

They will be a highly accountable leader with a deep passion and understanding of Health & Safety and are comfortable operating in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

A demonstrated ability to effectively influence and interact with senior management and functional teams is essential.


Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in Health & Safety field.

Comprehensive knowledge of OH&S legislation combined with training in hazard recognition, assessment, and control.

Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, preparation of safety plans, procedures, hazard assessments, and incident investigations and risk assessments.

CSO certification or Equal/Higher Designation.
