English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher
Kells students come from all corners both of Montreal and of the world. They represent a variety of cultures and cultural perspectives. Therefore, at Kells, we strive to create and maintain a sense of community that helps students feel included.

Responsibilities

• Teach English as a second language to multiple high school grade levels
• Attend and contribute to team meetings
• Attend required school events beyond the school day, such as Open House, curriculum night, and parentteacher interviews
• Take advantage of professional development opportunities
• Communicate regularly with administration, parents and students regarding student progress
• Complete other duties as assigned by the school principal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ESL instruction or in education; Master's preferred
• ESL instructional training if no degree in ESL
• Strong teaching background, including training and experience, in English as a second language
• Successful experience working with a diverse student population
• Holding a Quebec teaching license preferred

Schedule and Accountability

• All ESL classes are between 8:20 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
• This is a nonunion instructor position
• The ESL teacher will work approximately halftime and report to the principal
