RFA's residential mortgage lending business is operated by RFA Mortgage Corporation and RFA Bank of Canada, a federally regulated Schedule I Bank.

RFA Mortgage Corporation specializes in Prime lending (Insured, Insurable, Uninsurable), while RFA Bank of Canada is a balance sheet based Alternative mortgage lender (Alt-A and B lending).

Combined, RFA offers mortgage brokers a one-stop shop with our full suite of competitive Prime and Alternative mortgages.

The Opportunity

RFA is looking for a Business Analyst/Product owner to join our team and help us deliver innovative solutions for our mortgage lending business.

You will work closely with internal business departments to understand their needs, create requirements, maintain a backlog for the development team, and prioritize the backlog while considering the competing needs of multiple departments.

You will also collaborate with the development team and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that meet the business objectives and customer expectations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from various departments, such as sales, marketing, operations, compliance, etc.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Work with the business to develop new processes and procedures to align with newly developed tools and functionality.
  • Maintain and refine the product backlog, ensuring that it is aligned with the product vision and roadmap.
  • Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, urgency, dependencies, and risks.
  • Communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve conflicts.
  • Review and provide feedback on the development team's deliverables, such as prototypes, demos, and testing results.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and facilitate user feedback sessions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and usability of the products after launch.
  • Identify and suggest improvements and enhancements for existing and new products.

What you can bring to RFA:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a product owner, business analyst, or similar role in the mortgage lending industry
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending processes, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience in creating and managing product backlogs using agile methodologies and tools
