Here's the job opportunity


You will report to the Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer and will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies across the organization.

You will collaborate with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure that we have effective risk management practices in place.

This is an important role that requires strong decision-making skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


You will

The main accountabilities include:

  • Identifying and assessing risks with a particular focus on financial and insurance risks
  • Enhancing ALM and hedging reporting
  • Delivering reports, including stress testing and key risk indicators
  • Supporting the CRO in various other responsibilities and projects, developing an ESG and climate risk framework, and addressing emerging projects or regulatory requirements
  • Supporting Risk Management/Reinsurance Audits performed by Internal Audit
  • Supporting model validation framework
  • Leading the delivery of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) in collaboration with the corporate actuarial department
  • Reviewing and updating riskrelated policies and procedures to align with business needs, best practices, regulatory requirements, and rating agency expectations
  • Cultivating strong relationships with business units and control functions to promote a riskaware culture and add value through collaboration
  • Participating in industry forum
  • Interpreting new regulations and assessing impacts to the internal control's framework/program
  • Preparing gap analysis and providing solutions to address regulatory changes

What we are looking for

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience within Financial Services and/or Life Insurance industry
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial sciences or accounting or finance is required
  • Experience in and current knowledge of the financial services industry is an asset
  • Ability to work independently on complex project.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Certificate in Risk Management (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional), or other relevant risk management designation is an asset
  • At a minimum must be ASA, ACIA but FSA is preferred
  • Advanced written and verbal business communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively to deliver on organizational goals
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while multitasking
